Kids' Spaces on the Disney Wonder

Today, we’re talking about kids’ activities on the Disney Wonder. Guys, here’s the bottom line: no other cruise line compares to Disney when it comes to dedicated spaces for kids. These clubs are staffed with trained and certified counselors, they take up more decks than any other cruise line, and they offer some of the longest complimentary operating hours at sea. Plus, each space was specifically designed for the age group they were created for.

Let’s start with the grade school set: ages 3-12. Once onboard a Disney Cruise Line ship, your kids in this age group will have the run of the Oceaneer’s Club and Lab. We’re talking about two distinct spaces separated by a secure hallway, both of which your kids can explore at their leisure. In the Club, kids will enjoy tons of imaginative play time, with opportunities for both unstructured and organized activities in a variety of areas, including: Andy’s Room, the Marvel Superhero Academy, Frozen Adventures, and Club Disney Junior. Down the hall in the Lab, your kids will have the opportunity to do science experiments, take cooking classes, participate in animation seminars, engage in ship sailing simulators, enjoy arts and crafts….and so much more. (Note: Some of the specific activities I just mentioned are exclusive to the Disney Wonder. However, each ship has comparable offerings).

Tweens ages 11-14 have access to the Edge Lounge. This tweens-only club is a great place to hang out, meet other tweens, and participate in engaging activities designed just for this age group. 13-17 year olds can enjoy Edge, a teen paradise stocked with everything from music to smoothies to games. Of course, both of these clubs are supervised by some of the coolest counselors at sea! (Note: Tweens ages 11 & 12 can choose to visit either the Oceaneer’s Club/Lab OR Edge. Teens ages 13 & 14 are welcome to go between the Edge and Vibe).

Of course, the littlest cruisers are not left out on the Disney Cruise Line! Children ages 3 & under have their own dedicated space: It’s a Small World Nursery. Please note that, in an effort to keep the child-to-staff ratio small in the nursery, space is limited. Advance reservations are recommended, and a nominal fee does apply.

When it’s time to come together as a family, there are PLENTY of opportunities to make shared memories with your kids. Try the Twist and Spout water slide, participate in a family game show, enjoy the two family pools, splash around in the Wet Play area (designed just for little ones), get moving on Goofy’s Sports Deck, catch one of the Broadway-caliber stage shows, meet some of your favorite characters, sing the night away with Family Karaoke, try your hand at a game of shuffleboard, catch the largest fireworks display at sea…and MUCH, MUCH more.
